Cute, and anachronistic

The overarching message of this book - that manners matter - is wonderful, and the pictures are cute.

It tells children to refer to adults as Mr. and Mrs., without even Miss as an option. It tells children to help *mom* in the kitchen, instead of just helping in the kitchen, and that sort of thing.

I was very surprised to see that the book was written in this century. I don’t think feminism and good manners are at odds.

Thank you for your insight Jacob as it helps us become better at our craft. Keep in mind children learn mostly from watching and observing. In that particular illustration and rhyme you point out, the reader/observer is seeing momma, papa, sister and brother helping with the dishes as they all work together as a unit. Because we want to keep the rhymes short, simple and flowing, and go along with the illustrative work, they can at times catch the eye of a critical adult. However, children won't see the separation. It's only us adults, who have been trained to find fault in others, of which we are all guilty of doing, who might see the separation. The children will see everyone working together. Thank you for sharing.

My grandsons loved the books!

LET OUR CUSTOMERS SPEAK FOR US

My son fell in love with Max at first sight!

My 6 year old son absolutely loves the Max plush doll and the books. He was so excited to open the box and fell in love with Max immediately. We read them every day and he associates Max's good behaviors with ones he can adopt too. Thank you so very much!

Better than hoped for!

These little books are super! Great illustrations, clever hidden books on each page, and best of all, the outstanding instruction! My 3 year old granddaughter wants me to read them over and over. Her love of these books is far more satisfying than I could have hoped for.

Well done!

These books are amazing! My 4 year old granddaughter loves them and wants to read them over and over again. Plus, they teach strong values for young minds.
